Violence and Pacification in 1991
The Special Commission for Research and Study on Violence and Pacification Alternatives publishes, for the fourth consecutive year, its report on the situations of violence affecting the country, as well as the debates and proposals surrounding the alternatives for the ongoing counter-subversive strategy and for pacification. With this publication it maintains compliance with the general recommendations approved by the Senate of the Republic in 1988, among which is the one establishing the permanent nature of the Special Commission, with the purpose of devoting itself to research on the problems of violence, developing pacification proposals, and carrying out outreach work that contributes to strengthening citizens' awareness of opposition to terrorism and active commitment to the tasks of National Pacification.
