Violence and Pacification
The Special Commission charged with studying the causes of violence and proposing alternatives for national pacification began its activities by issuing a public call to various sectors of society and the state to express their views on the various forms of violence afflicting our country and their proposals regarding pacification. The commission has incorporated a large portion of these contributions into its study. The present volume compiles much of the material submitted to the Commission. Some contributions remain confidential at the request of their authors, and others at the Commission's own decision. The intention was to share with society what has come from society itself, as evidence of the wealth of ideas and opinions that suggest possibilities for achieving the pacification that the Peruvian people long for.
