Death in the Pentagonito

This book recounts events involving Peruvian military personnel and subversives between 1982 and 1993. It is written from their perspective and not from that of their victims. Therefore, it does not claim to be the whole truth, although it is a part of it that is not otherwise considered. The events were revealed by actors or witnesses. The occurrences, including those from the inner world of a character, such as thoughts or sensations, were reported by a reliable testimony. In relevant cases, the accounts come from two or more sources. In scenes where there is controversy about the history, I believe it happened as narrated here and the discrepancies have been noted. Most sources agreed to provide information confidentially. Therefore, there are versions not attributed to one or more identifiable persons. In cases where this occurs, there was express consent. I disavow any deduction about the origin of the information made from implicit passages or those that appear to suggest, without specifying, the identity of a source. The method, based on secret and suitable testimonies, is a sophisticated resource for investigating unspeakable crimes that left no evidence. Fundamentally, I sought to reconstruct the intimate details of the processes of extrajudicial elimination of alleged terrorists. In that domain, one can verify to what extent these actions, usually attributed to unhinged individuals, formed part of the common sense of Peruvian military personnel for fifteen years.
