Documentation Experiences in Post-Conflict Scenarios: The Huancavelica - Peru Case
This publication is the result of joint work between the Registro Nacional de Identidad y Estado Civil (RENIEC) and the Instituto de Defensa Legal (IDL), launched at the end of 2005, to identify and address the problem of lack of documentation in one of the areas most affected by the internal armed conflict and among the poorest in the country: Huancavelica, a region located largely in the high Andean zone of Peru, whose population is predominantly Quechua-speaking, rural, and relies on an economy based mainly on subsistence.
