The Legacy of Truth. Criminal Justice in the Peruvian Transition
This book aims to be a renewed contribution by the Centro Internacional para la Justicia Transicional (ICTJ) to efforts in favor of consolidating democracy in Peru. For several years, our Center has been actively collaborating in the promotion of the various tools of transitional justice in that country. In particular, we have contributed to strengthening the work of the Comisión de la Verdad y Reconciliación (CVR) and have participated in various ways in promoting policies for truth, reparations to victims, and the prosecution of those responsible for human rights violations. This collective work is a continuation of those efforts and is inspired by the same commitment with which we have offered our contribution. (Excerpt from the introduction).
