Historical and Cultural Memory for Peace. Learning from the Past to Build the Future (Seminar)
"Historical Memory and a Culture of Peace: Learning from the Past to Build the Future" was the name of an international conference held in October 2005 in the cities of Ayacucho and Lima (Peru), organized by the Ministerio de la Mujer y el Desarrollo Social del Perú, with the support of two German cooperation institutions: the Servicio Alemán de Cooperación Social-Técnica–DED and Inwent–Capacitación y Desarrollo Internacional. This publication presents various perspectives on the controversial subject of how to build peace in Latin America, reflecting both analytical and reflective advances as well as lived experiences. The authors present, through their works, a possible way of building peace — a new culture, a culture of peace.
