Yuyanapaq, to remember
"Yuyanapaq. Para recordar" (Yuyanapaq. To Remember) is the visual account of the terrible years of armed conflict Peru experienced between 1980 and 2000, whose consequences have not yet ended. This book brings together the photographs that formed the photographic exhibition inaugurated in 2003 by the Comisión de la Verdad y la Reconciliación (CVR) (Truth and Reconciliation Commission), which stirred the consciences of more than one hundred thousand Peruvians who saw it at the Casa Riva Agüero (Chorrillos) and which has since continued its tour both within the country and in Lima, where it was reinaugurated by the Defensoría del Pueblo (Ombudsman's Office) at the Museo de la Nación. It has also been seen abroad, at the United Nations headquarters and in European countries such as Germany, Sweden, and Spain.
