Elena Iparraguirre, member of the Shining Path Central Committee, is presented to the press
Elena Iparraguirre, a member of Sendero Luminoso's Central Committee, is presented to the press on September 22 in the courtyard of the Dirección Nacional Contra el Terrorismo (DINCOTE) along with Laura Zambrano and María Pantoja. Iparraguirre was detained on September 12, 1992 together with Abimael Guzmán and other members of Sendero Luminoso's Central Committee: María Guadalupe Pantoja Sánchez, Laura Zambrano Padilla, and Elizabeth Cárdenas Huayta. She is currently serving a life sentence at the Penal de la Base Naval del Callao.
