Massacre of Callqui by Marines
Marines kill six young men in Callqui Presbyterian church
Marines entered the Callqui Presbyterian church during a prayer service, took out six young men and killed them. The incident was denounced by leaders of the Presbyterian church to CONEP on August 3, demanding government protection. Vicente Sayco denounced the facts to the authorities. Caretas magazine published a report on the massacre on August 20.
