Discovery of mass graves in Huamanguilla and Pucayacu
First mass graves were discovered in Huamanguilla and Pucayacu during 1984.
During 1984, in the context of increasing violence and terror in Ayacucho, the first mass graves were discovered in Huamanguilla and Pucayacu. These findings showed the magnitude of the human rights violations committed during the period when the Navy was operating in the area and the Self-Defense Committees had been formed.
