Period of counter-subversive military campaign 1983-1985
Counter-subversive military campaign 1983-1985 with numerous human rights violations
During this period, a counter-subversive military campaign with inadequate strategy resulted in numerous human rights violations. Military operations began on December 30, 1982. The number of extrajudicial executions and various human rights violations reached catastrophic proportions in proportion to the size of the population in the area. Clandestine detention and torture centers appeared in some military bases, such as the Huanta stadium, the 'Los Cabitos' pigsty in Huamanga and the 'pink house'.
