Assassination of Miguel Pasache Vidal and Sócrates Porta Solano
Miguel Pasache Vidal and Sócrates Porta Solano were assassinated by the MRTA in August 1988. Their deaths were linked to the kidnapping of General Héctor Jerí García, who was later released after a ransom was paid and food was distributed in Lima. The MRTA claimed responsibility for the executions and threatened further violence if their demands were not met.
Miguel Pasache Vidal fue detenido en su domicilio en San Martín de Porres y llevado a San Bartolo en Curayacu, donde fue asesinado. El Movimiento Revolucionario Túpac Amaru se atribuyó ambas ejecuciones mediante comunicados a la prensa el 24 de septiembre de 1988. Los asesinatos estuvieron ligados al secuestro del General (r) Héctor Jerí García, siendo utilizados como presión para exigir su liberación y otras demandas del comando.
