Approval of the Rome Statute by Peru
The Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court was approved by Peru through Legislative Resolution No. 27517 on 13 November 2001. This statute includes provisions related to the prohibition of slavery and its contemporary forms, such as forced labor and servitude. The approval marked a significant step in Peru's commitment to international human rights standards.
El Estatuto de Roma de la Corte Penal Internacional fue aprobado por el Estado peruano mediante Resolución Legislativa N° 27517 del 13 de noviembre de 2001. Este instrumento internacional establece disposiciones normativas sobre crímenes de lesa humanidad, incluyendo definiciones de esclavitud y prácticas análogas contenidas en los Artículos 7° y 8° del Estatuto. La aprobación de este instrumento vincula a Perú a los estándares internacionales de justicia penal y responsabilidad por violaciones graves de derechos humanos.
