Assassination of Juvenal Martínez and Subsequent Military Actions in Julcani
In 1993, the PCP-SL assassinated the industrial relations officer at the Julcani mine. Following this event, military and police forces increased their control over mining centers, leading to the shooting of worker Juvenal Martínez by Major Rubén Rodríguez Rebanal during a mobilization. These actions were reportedly coordinated between the mining company and security forces to counteract the presence of Sendero Luminoso and weaken the labor union.
En 1993, el PCP-SL asesinó al relacionista industrial de la mina Julcani. Tras este hecho, militares y policías intensificaron el control en los centros mineros. El trabajador Juvenal Martínez fue baleado a quemarropa por el mayor Rubén Rodríguez Rebanal durante una movilización, siendo presenciado por múltiples trabajadores. Según testimonios, estas acciones fueron coordinadas entre la empresa minera y las fuerzas de seguridad para contrarrestar la presencia senderista y desarticular la organización sindical.
