PCP-SL Red Month
Campaign of violent actions of the PCP-SL carried out between May 17 and June 19, 1991 throughout Peru, known as the 'red month', which commemorated the anniversary of the beginning of their war and the massacre of the prisons.
The PCP-SL carried out the so-called 'red month' with violent actions throughout the country. This period lasted from May 17, the anniversary of the beginning of their war against the country, until June 19, the day of heroism or anniversary of the massacre of the prisons. During this month, the PCP-SL intensified its attacks and terrorist actions nationwide. The event was part of the III Campaign of the V Military Plan of the PCP-SL that was being developed since February 1991.
