Testimony of Juana Bustos Huamaní

On May 19, 2013, Juana Bustos Huamaní (a displaced person from Colcabamba) was interviewed. She recounted that around 1980, she witnessed how the residents of Colcabamba found themselves caught between two forces: Sendero Luminoso and the Policía Nacional del Perú. Out of fear of being harmed, the population preferred to hide in the hills rather than stay in their homes. She also identified the Puente Pachachaca (Pachachaca bridge) as a means by which people could escape that situation. Information gathered during the production of the documentary "Nada queda sino nuestra ternura," directed by Sébastien Jallade and produced by Documental Peruano (2017).
