CVR public hearings: thematic hearing on displaced communities. November 2002

The public hearings of the Comisión de la Verdad y Reconciliación (CVR) were solemn, open sessions in which the commissioners received testimony from victims and witnesses of the acts of violence experienced during the Peruvian internal armed conflict 1980–2000. The opportunity to give testimony before the country is a public act of dignity and healing for the victims. This video shows the thematic public hearings on displaced communities held in November 2002, where testimony was presented by: residents of the Monzón valley and the Alto Huallaga; residents of the communities of Osctollo, Tancayllo, Izcahuanca, and Huarypampa; Isabel Suasnábar Huaroc, forcibly displaced.
