Why Did the Judiciary Annul Fujimori's Pardon and Order His Return to Prison?

The pardon of Alberto Fujimori should never have been granted because it did not comply with internal procedures and violates the ruling of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (Corte IDH), since he had not served a considerable portion of his 25-year sentence, had not paid civil reparations, had not issued public apologies, and had not acknowledged his responsibility in the Barrios Altos, La Cantuta, and other cases. This is the argument put forward by lawyer Julio C. Mejía in explaining the resolution that nullifies the controversial pardon, which was carried out amid a political crisis.
