Peruvian Justice Annuls Fujimori's Pardon and Orders His Arrest

Alberto Fujimori will return to prison. Peru's Supreme Court annulled this Wednesday the pardon granted to the 80-year-old autocrat, who had received the grace on Christmas night last year from then-president Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, forgiving him a 25-year prison sentence for crimes against humanity, and ordered his immediate arrest. His lawyer has appealed the court's decision. Late in the afternoon, Fujimori was transferred by ambulance from his home — in an exclusive area in the south of the city — to the private clinic where he is regularly treated.
