El Frontón Case: Judiciary Considers It a Crime Against Humanity
The alleged crimes of aggravated homicide in the form of murder with ferocity and by explosion, for which 35 former naval officers are being prosecuted in the El Frontón Case, will be classified as crimes against humanity. This was determined at a new hearing by Panel B of the Sala Penal Nacional of the Poder Judicial. As is known, the oral trial began in September following the alleged massacre of 135 inmates at the former El Frontón prison on June 18, 1986, during the first government of Alan García.
