War Orphans Search for Their Relatives Among the Unearthed Mass Graves
According to the CVR report, between 1983 and 1994, the years of greatest violence in the district of Chungui, 1,384 civilians were killed by Sendero Luminoso, ronderos, and security forces. The recent exhumation of 56 community members' remains by a forensic team brought together men and women who, as children, had witnessed the violent deaths of their relatives.
