What Did Vargas Llosa Write About Uchuraccay?
Vargas Llosa bade farewell to Uchuraccay forever and never referred to the subject again, not even, as we recall, in his memoirs titled "El Pez en el Agua," perhaps because, as he declared in November 1984 when asked about the conduct of the tribunal: "I believe it is the greatest offense ever made against me in my life, and without the slightest justification to warrant such an offense. I was interrogated in the most demeaning, unjustified, and abusive manner. That has hurt me deeply" ("El Comercio." 29.11.84. p. A6).
