Maoism in the Andes: Shining Path and the Contemporary Guerrilla Movement in Peru
This work stems from a period dedicated to research in Peru, between January 1980 and September 1982, when many of the events mentioned below were taking place. Much of the data on the early divisions within the Peruvian Communist Party and the origins of Shining Path relies on the account given by Mercado (1982).
