The Peruvian State Acknowledges the Massacre at Castro Castro Prison in 1992

Mónica Feria, a lawyer and survivor of the torture she suffered in 1992 during the prison massacre known as "Castro Castro" in Lima, Peru, has finally been granted reparations by the Peruvian State. After 14 years of tireless struggle as legal representative of 300 survivors and family members of the victims, the Peruvian State acknowledges its responsibility for the bloody atrocities perpetrated by state authorities at the aforementioned prison. This marks an important milestone for all torture survivors.
