Forced Sterilizations Closed

Special prosecutor Carlos Cáceres definitively archived the investigation into the forced sterilizations carried out in the Peruvian jungle and highlands during the government of Alberto Fujimori. The prosecutor's office holds that after more than eight years of inquiries and review of documents from the Ministerio de Salud and other institutions, no evidence has been found to confirm that these sterilizations were aimed at exterminating the country's indigenous population. There is no evidence, they say. It was not only indigenous women's rights that were violated, but women's rights in general. Therefore, the case is archived. Remarkable. There is much evidence. Both the United States Congress and the Peruvian Congress found it, but the current judiciary does not.
