ANDEAN PEASANTRY AND VIOLENCE. BALANCE OF A DECADE OF STUDIES
From this literature review we can see how a body of knowledge has been built up about political violence in rural areas and about the Shining Path phenomenon. While studies remain scarce and gaps are abundant, several initial misconceptions have been cleared up, consensus has been reached on important aspects, and debates have been raised on others.
