In the case of the department of Junín, the Monitoring System found it appropriate to differentiate between the highland and jungle geographic zones, due to the particular characteristics of each. In the case of the central jungle zone, the PRC monitoring proposal established a partnership with the Centro Amazónico de Antropología y Aplicación Práctica (CAAAP), an institution that has been working with the indigenous peoples of the central jungle for more than 30 years.
