Conviction for Massacres Does Not Erase the Horror

Former intelligence adviser Vladimiro Montesinos and former Army chief Nicolás Hermoza, the second and third in command, respectively, in the regime of former President Alberto Fujimori (1990–2000), were sentenced on Friday to 25 years in prison for having authorized the formation of a secret commando unit that executed 25 people.
