HUNGER STRIKE
Néstor Cerpa Cartolini, then general secretary of the union at the Cromotex factory and future MRTA leader, leads a hunger strike alongside other workers in December 1979. The workers were demanding the release of four colleagues accused in the death of a Guardia Civil officer that occurred during a confrontation at the Cromotex factory on February 4, 1979, in which six workers were also killed.
