Peru's Interior Minister Suggests That the Ideologist of Shining Path Was the Inspiration for the Mutiny at El Sexto
Peru's Interior Minister Luis Percóvich suggested on Friday, during his appearance before the permanent commission of Congress, that Emilio Antonio Díaz Martínez, the ideologist of the Maoist terrorist movement Sendero Luminoso, was the instigator of the bloody riot last Tuesday at the Lima prison El Sexto, which left 22 dead and nearly 60 wounded. Two of the hostages died yesterday as a result of their extremely serious injuries.
