While sheltered in his golden refuge in Tokyo, former dictator Alberto Fujimori emphatically denied that 300,000 forced sterilizations had been registered during his government because, by his own reckoning, "only 180 complaints were received at the Defensoría del Pueblo." And the other 300,000 complaints? Not a single one.
