Fujimori Ordered the Forced Sterilization of 200,000 Indigenous Women in Peru
Former Peruvian president Alberto Fujimori and three former health ministers are to be charged with genocide by the Peruvian Congress. They are accused of having directed a plan of forced sterilizations, "under pressure, threats, and food incentives, without being properly informed," affecting more than 200,000 women, the majority of them indigenous, between 1996 and 2000.
