Prosecutor Issues Charges Against 29 Soldiers Accused of Murdering 69 Peasants from Accomarca
Requests 25 years in prison for the perpetrators of an execrable crime and 14 million soles in reparations for victims. The prosecutor of the third superior criminal chamber of Lima, Dr. Luis Antonio Landa Burgos, issued yesterday a prosecutorial indictment against 29 military personnel who are being tried as intellectual and material authors of the extrajudicial killing of 69 peasants in the community of Accomarca, in the department of Ayacucho, on August 14, 1985.
