Journalist and public relations professional Fabián Salazar Oliveros obtained videos and electronic files documenting the involvement of the SIN and Vladimiro Montesinos in the electoral process. But shortly after receiving them, his office was raided by four men who retrieved the material and proceeded to torture him with an electric saw to force him to reveal the identity of his sources. He miraculously survived and provided details to the press.
