The Horrors of War
Volume 7 of the CVR's Final Report includes seventy-three cases of serious human rights violations perpetrated by Sendero Luminoso, the MRTA, the Armed and Police Forces, and the self-styled Grupo or Destacamento Colina and the Comando Rodrigo Franco. IDL has selected seven cases that clearly illustrate the insanity of the forces in combat and the horror of which they were capable, resulting almost always in thousands of innocent victims — generally very poor villagers who were caught in this indiscriminate crossfire.
