The Battle Over

The circumstances surrounding the recapture of the Japanese ambassador's residence and the rescue of the 172 captives through a flawlessly executed and high-risk military operation have been, without doubt, enormous, but they have restored the rule of law and given a vigorous revival to the political prestige of President Alberto Fujimori, which just the previous Sunday appeared to be waning dangerously.
