Two people who claimed not to know each other, Abimael Guzmán and Víctor Zavala, were very effusive with one another. The latter, a member of the Comité de Socorro Popular of Sendero Luminoso and former professor at the Universidad La Cantuta, leapt from his seat like a spring and gave Guzmán a firm embrace when he entered the courtroom at the Naval Base in Callao last Friday the 5th.
