The War Continues. Approaches to Political and Ideological Violence in Peru

A survey of our country's political effects, social consequences, and barely understood sufferings requires not only sustained, long-term work but also the reflective exchange of all spheres of society in which it is incubated. But as ethical demands suggest, there is also much to heal. Not only following the old adage of remembering the past so as not to be condemned to repeat it, but the acknowledgment of that past compels mutual deliberation and public measures of prevention. Our country not only carries the brutal and traumatic shock of the conquest, but is also continuously confronting antagonistic states of civilization that overlap, contradict, collide, and exclude one another.
