Cayara Case. Background Note
As part of "Operativo Persecución," on May 14, 1988, Army troops entered the town of Cayara, a province near Erusco, at around 9 in the morning. After killing the first resident they encountered, they detained the men who had witnessed the event from the local church and subsequently killed them as well. Meanwhile, other soldiers looted the stores and homes of the community members and then set them on fire. Published in May 2005.
