Victim Registration Begins in Huancavelica
Registering victims can be understood as a cold tally of casualties: so many dead, so many wounded, and that is that. But, as conceived by the Comisión de la Verdad y Reconciliación (CVR), it is the first step in a reparations process. With this purpose, the Regional Government of Huancavelica is developing a Victim Registry, for which it has the advisory support of the Governance and Human Rights Area of the IDL, within the framework of the project "Follow-up on the Recommendations of the Truth Commission in the Huancavelica Region," funded by the Fondo Ítalo Peruano (FIP).
