María Elena Moyano
Family members, friends, and fellow members of the Federación Popular de Mujeres de Villa El Salvador, Fepomuves, remember María Elena Moyano as a fighter, a compassionate, and friendly woman. Her years with the community, as a leader and as an official in the Municipalidad de Villa El Salvador. Having become a neighborhood leader, she confronted Sendero Luminoso, who murdered her on February 15, 1992 during a neighborhood event.
