Shining Path killed with machetes
In 2009, congressman of the Aprista party Edgar Núñez claimed that the CVR and Caretas magazine photojournalist Óscar Medrano had doctored the emblematic photograph in which a survivor of the Lucanamarca massacre, Mr. Edmundo Camana, appears, with the sole purpose of serving their "malicious and deep-red political ends."
