Statement by Comrade Artemio. December 2008.
Florindo Eleuterio Flores Hala, known as Camarada Artemio, proclaimed himself for years as secretary of the Huallaga regional committee of Sendero Luminoso, until his capture in February 2012. Artemio, today sentenced to life imprisonment, declared in December 2008 on a local radio station in the community of Aucayacu (Huánuco) that he was a "victim of abuse" by the Peruvian military forces, and reaffirmed his political struggle from within the Partido Comunista del Perú.
