With Truth but Without Reconciliation - Opinion Column
The opinions of several political authorities heard in recent days lead to the conclusion that although some things have changed in the country since the presentation of the CVR's final report, others remain the same or have even gotten worse. On the positive side is the CVR's contribution to advancing human rights violation proceedings, including the trials of Alberto Fujimori, Vladimiro Montesinos, the military leadership of the 1990s, and their assassins in the Grupo Colina. Also positive is the reparations system for this phenomenon. Published August 28, 2008.
