Violence, Memory, and Imagination. Uchuraccay and Lucanamarca in Peru's Political Violence
Violence, memory, and representation are the three analytical axes of this thesis for the degree of Master of Arts (History) at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. These levels are approached from personal, communal, and national history. This thesis is a history structured around fragments of historical, political, and subjective experiences, where "the small voices of history" are embedded in broader political processes, with policies of marginalization and forgetting, stereotypes and prejudices, and silences operating at different levels.
