Dondoneo
Although the poetry of Marco Martos, from Piura, has been somewhat aloof from politics, it has not avoided concern for the terror and violence of the internal war experienced in Peru over several decades. Dondoneo is a poetic anthology of Martos's work that includes precisely those poems that offer an engaged and vivid moral reading of those fateful years of terror — verses that conjure the dark shadows of reality, confront them, and defeat them, as in the poem "Retablo."
