Dedeálade: 69 Poems
The 69 poems by Mendizabal gathered in this volume present themselves as the externalized feelings of young people confronting the gruesome context of the internal war lived in Peru, and they also reflect the disenchantment with authority and the exercise of power, both institutional and subversive. Memory and presence brought together in its more than one hundred pages. "To open the door in the central highlands is not to face the sun but a rifle butt; to go to the market on Sunday is to give no light on the dead, look from afar" (Excerpt from the poem "Pucayacu").
