"Archivo de huellas digitales" won the Premio Nacional de Poesia (Premio COPE) in 1984. Eduardo Chirinos presents in some of his verses a personal vision of political violence, in which a certain "uncertainty" about the decay that devastated the capital of Peru during the period of internal war is highlighted. "The wall on which such beautiful poems were once written crumbles. The dust mixes with the waters, the moth dissolves at the touch of light, and our eyes remember trembling a vision. Is it there that we are to see ourselves?"
