The Ground-Down Weapons

Juan Ramirez Ruiz was born in Chiclayo in 1946 and is a founding member of the group Hora Zero. "Las armas molidas" is a book composed of verses and symbols that the author calls "andigramas," which he defines as the "millenary trace of human propensity." The poems of Ramirez speak of all those ills that can afflict the human being; above all they refer to the pain and desperation that spring from violence, even more so when these are imposed from power, whether institutional or that exercised from a mode of thought whose leitmotif is the instilling of terror.
