Against the Sleep of the Just. Peruvian Literature Confronting Political Violence
"Contra el sueno de los justos: la literatura peruana ante la violencia politica" is a text written by three hands (Juan Carlos Ubilluz, Alexandra Hibbett, and Victor Vich) that fits, almost precisely, the current need to revisit a certain literary corpus dealing with the problems — not only political, but above all military — that befell our Nation in the decade of the eighties. For this task it will specifically examine novels such as Lituma en los Andes, La hora azul, Abril rojo, Rosa Cuchillo, and Candela quema luceros, among other texts (including a pictorial one), that approach those events from their personal perspectives.
